31st James A. Porter Colloquium on African American Art and Art of the African Diaspora

On behalf of the Department of Art at Howard University, it is our pleasure to announce that the 31st James A. Porter Colloquium on African American Art and Art of the African Diaspora will convene in spring 2021. The 31st Annual James A. Porter Colloquium will explore the theme “Defining Diaspora: 21st Century Developments in Art of the African Diaspora.” Sessions will investigate how visual artists and art scholars are defining the aesthetic contours and possibilities of the African Diaspora in American art space. Colloquium honorees, keynote speakers and event details will be released summer 2020.
